To Accomplish 2.6 Billion m3 Exploitation of Shale Gas During the 12th Five Years of CNPC

On the 19^th, YANG Qing-li, General Manager of CNPC Engineering Sub-Company expressed at the 6^thInternational Petroleum Summit that CNPC was to enhance shale gas development to realize 2.6 billion m³shale gas exploitation of in the year of 2015.

As required by the National Development and Reform Commission, CNPC will deploy 48 more drilling rigs for 3 areas in 2014 to meet the target of the shale gas output yield planned for 2015. Before that, CNPC has been putting its main effort on conventional oil-gas and tight gas.

YANG Qing-li said that the business of CNPC Engineering Technology Sub-Company covered technical service projects for CNPC oil-gas development. Currently, there are totally 6400 teams from CNPC, distributed to various fields, eg. geophysical prospecting seismic acquisition, land drilling, oil drilling platform, well logging, etc. Till now, CNPC has constructed a total of 2030 horizontal wells, completed 606 under-balanced wells, 4034 wells for well operation under pressure, 1020 horizontal wells and 8211 stages for staged fracturing.
